Expeditions Pisco (5752m) & Huascaran (6768m) 16 Days



In order to begin with this program, we will begin with the mountain Pisco 5752mt, as acclimatization readily accessible and soon we to ascend to the mountain Huascaran 6768mt.


Day 01: Lima: Welcome at the Airport and Transfer to Hotel Lima

Day 02: Travel to Huaraz (3100m) by bus takes 8 hours. Hotel Huaraz

Day 03: Huaraz. Acclimatization day hikes Laguna Churup (4450mt)
By bus Pitec at 3,950m, and Hike Lake at 4,450m, and return to Huaraz.

Day 04: Huaraz / Transfer to Llanganuco / Trekking to Pisco Base Camp (4300mt) Camp
We head out past the beautiful Llanganuco lakes and on to the trailhead where we load our donkeys and ascend to the Pisco Base Camp.

Day 05: Pisco Base Camp / Ascend to Pisco Moraine Camp (4765mt) Camp
Climb from Cave to Moraine Camp (4765mt).This climb crosses a challenging rock glacier before climbing steeply into camp in a small sandy basin just below the toe of the glacier.

Day 06: Moraine Camp / Ascend to Pisco Summit (5750mt) / Descend to Base Camp (4300mt) Camp
Summit day! Wake at 3:00am and after a light breakfast depart for the summit. Arrive at the summit about 7am and discover why everyone talks about the view! Return to camp and continue on back down to the Base Camp

Day 07: Base Camp / Descend through Quebrada Llanganuco / Transfer to Huaraz Hotel Huaraz
We trek out to Llanganuco and then return to Huaraz.Time to relax after the climbing and celebrate.

Day 08: Free day in Huaraz, and Preparations for Huascaran Climbing

Day 09: Huaraz / Transfer to Musho / Trekking to Huascaran Base Camp (4100mt) Camp
Leave for the town of Musho around 8am after picking up fresh supplies. Load the donkeys and hike to the base camp of Huascarán.

Day 10: Base Camp / Ascend to Huascaran High Camp (4800mt) Camp
In order to establish ourselves on the mountain, with sufficient food to last for the duration of the ascent, we will carry light loads to camp 1. This will also be an essential day to improve and extend our acclimatization for altitudes that we will not have encountered, so far, on the expedition. A short rock scramble behind base camp leads onto an expanse of open rock slabs. These slabs provide a fascinating walk, which leads across the front of the mountain to a place where access to the glacier can be gained more easily.

Day 11: High Camp / Ascend to Huascaran Camp 2 (5950mt) Camp
Today we will climb the Garganta Icefall to the Col between Huascarán North and South summits. This will be the crux of the climb. The snow and ice on this part of the climb varies greatly from year to year but the guides will already know what to expect. From here, we will have a clear view of the remaining route to the summit.

Day 12: Camp 2 / Ascend to Huascaran Summit (6768mt) / Descend to Camp 1 or Moraine Camp
Summit day! Again you'll start early, leaving camp around 2:00am for the summit ascent, arriving back at camp around 2:00pm. After a break and some warm food, you'll continue the descent to Camp One.

Day 13: Camp 1 / Descend to Base Camp (4100mt) Camp
Descend from camp 1 to base camp. Time: 3 to 4 hours.

Day 14: Base Camp / Descend to Musho / Transfer to Huaraz Hotel Huraz
From base camp, we will descend to Musho to be met by the transport. Our vehicles will be a welcome sight, especially as they will whisk us back to Huaraz and the comforts of our hotel. Tonight will be a night to celebrate and to thank our guides and porters for their help in making the trip a success.

Day 15: Lima: Trip to Lima and Arrive in the Afternoon and Transfer to hotel Lima

Day 16: Lima-Airport: Shopping, and in the Afternoon Transfer to Airport
